2019 Junior Boys' Club Finals set for Saturday in Langford

The 2019 BC Rugby Junior Boys’ Club Finals will take place this Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Westhills Stadium, the home of Rugby Canada. The top teams from the 2019 age-grade boys’ club season will face off in Langford with the Boys’ U15, U17 and U19 championships on the line.

Abbotsford RFC take U16 Girls' Final, CW win U19 Final

Abbotsford and Castaway Wanderers faced off in the U16 and U19 Girls' finals this weekend at Thunderbird Stadium, with Abby taking the U16 title and CW winning their third straight U19 championship. A mix of Westshore RFC and James Bay AA, playing as WestBays, claimed bronze in the U16 division.

Elite Youth Sevens Boys' Program Announced for 2020 
BC Rugby is delighted to confirm details of the 2020 Elite Youth Sevens Boys’ Program.  The program will feature four regional teams and training groups and compete in four key Rugby Sevens tournaments across the year. Early ID sessions are taking place across BC in December.

Tickets for the 2020 BC Rugby Conference are on sale now! The BC Rugby Conference is an annual gathering for Rugby coaches and referees, designed to improve the collective knowledge of coaches across the province.

BC Rugby Hall of Fame - 50% of tickets sold
50% of tickets have already been sold for the 2020 BC Rugby Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Taking place on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at St. George’s Senior School, Vancouver, the event will be a celebration of the contributions from our distinguished inductees.

Pride vs Tide match at Westhills

The Pacific Pride take on the Vancouver Island Crimson Tide on Friday, December 13th at 6:30 to watch! Tickets are $10 at the gate, under-20s get in free, and toy donations for the Rugby Canada Toy Drive are encouraged.  All proceeds will go towards supporting the Pacific Pride Performance Academy.  A kids' clinic will be run before kickoff.

Lisa Laing of the Kelowna Crows sent us this image from a Junior Boys' match last weekend, but the story behind it the real winner.  We'll let Lisa tell it in her own words.
"What a successful day of Rugby. Winter weather kicked in [in the interior] and our combined teams were so grateful to all involved in supporting our final matches moved to the Valley. Happy to report all made it home safely.
 
Would love to get a shout out to the Chilliwack Rugby Club. Not only did they scramble to accommodate our last minute request to host our final matches, but booked the filed, opened the change rooms and clubhouse, made sure there was coffee and hot chocolate and then went above and beyond and fed the teams. This act of support was the perfect finish to our Kelowna/Kamloops collaborative season. Showing us all again that rugby is not only a game but a community!"

We have a great community in our sport and it's moments like this that remind you how wonderful this Rugby family can be.
