KARATE CANADA, WITH THE SUPPORT OF KARATE ONTARIO, WILL BRING TOGETHER THE KARATE COMMUNITY AROUND THE GTA TO CELEBRATE THE UPCOMING TO2015 PAN AM GAMES, AT THE ANNUAL NATIONAL SUMMIT, HELD SATURDAY AFTERNOON OCTOBER 18, 2014.

As the national governing body for the sport of Karate, the organization has a weekend packed event open to the public, aimed for the youth and junior athletes, to promote and raise awareness about Toronto’s highly anticipated Pan Am/ Parapan Am Games. As a part of a broader effort to promote healthy and active living within the community, Karate Canada has scheduled activities such as public demonstrations by Senior National Team athletes (in both Kata and Kumite) and the TO2015 Community Tour, featuring the mascot Pachi. The event will take place at the Sheraton Toronto Airport Hotel & Conference Centre on Saturday, October 18, from 1PM to 3PM, as part of the annual three-day Summit.

Also, as an exciting and informative effort, a press conference will be held with the President of Karate Canada, the President of Karate Ontario, the Coaching Staff and the Captain of the National Team. The community can expect an introduction to the Senior National Team and the Karate tournament at the Pan Am Games. Karate Canada’s goals and expectations in terms of performance at the Games, as well as its preparation strategies, will also be the focus.

Proud community partners of Ignite and TO2015, Karate Canada will help host the Community Tour, involving a photo booth, a meet-and-greet with the mascot Pachi, and various other activities.

As the 2014 Karate Canada Summit is taking place in the host city for the 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games less than a year from the opening ceremony, Karate Canada, with the support of Karate Ontario, will host the TO2015 Community Tour for an afternoon. This will be a great opportunity to promote the organizations’ disciplines, and to highlight the participation of the National Team at these multisport Games. Saturday, October 18 from 1PM to 3PM, the community shall come together to celebrate these iconic Games.
