HOCKEY CANADA'S WORLD CUP OF HOCKEY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
Hockey Canada is ecstatic to announce that, in conjunction with Team Canada's World Cup of Hockey Training Camp, we will be offering Development Programs to players of all ages and coaches of all levels. These development programs will run out of the Canadian Tire Centre; the same ice that our Canadian players will skate on against the United States on Saturday September 10th, 2016. As an added bonus, when you register for any World Cup of Hockey Development Program, you will be entered into a draw to win 1 of 10 pairs of tickets to the Canada vs. USA game on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Canadian Tire Centre! The Hockey Canada World Cup of Hockey Development Programs are open to male and female players and coaches of a variety of ages and skill levels. PLAYER PROGRAMS
Learn to Skate Hockey Canada’s Learn to Skate program is designed to give children the best foundation of skating for the game of hockey. The program focuses on participation, basic skills and most importantly, FUN! The program is designed for beginners, between the ages of 4 to 7, who are hoping to improve their basic skating skills. Click here to register for the Learn to Skate Program Esso Fun Day Hockey Canada, in partnership with ESSO, continues to offer the top recruitment program for female hockey through the ESSO Fun Day Program. ESSO Fun Day is an introduction to female hockey for girls and women of all ages, it is designed to familiarize beginners to female hockey and its basic skills at no cost to the first-time participant. The focus of the ESSO Fun Day Program is to introduce the basic skills of hockey in a FUN, POSITIVE and NON-THREATENING environment. Click here to register for the Esso Fun Day Initiation Program Hockey Canada's Initiation Program makes children's first contact with hockey a safe and positive experience. It's a structured, learn-to-play hockey program designed to introduce beginners to the game's basic skills. It enables participants to become contributing members of a team effort, develop self-confidence, and experience a sense of personal achievement. These goals are achieved in an atmosphere of fun and fair play. Click here to register for the Initiation Program Goaltender Development Sessions Hockey Canada's Goaltending Skill Development Session is a one-hour program open to boys and girls playing in the Atom to Midget divisions (1999 - 2006 birthdays). The primary objective of the session is to provide a vehicle for goaltenders and coaches to enhance development of fundamental goaltending specific skills required to play the game of hockey. Click here to register for the Goaltender Development Session Skill Development Camps Hockey Canada Skills Development Camps are a one-day event open to boys and girls playing in the Novice, Atom, Peewee and Bantam divisions (2002 - 2008 birthdays). The primary objective of the camp is to provide a vehicle for players and coaches to enhance development of fundamental skills required to play the game of hockey in a safe and fun environment. Canadian Way & Program of Excellence Seminar For over 100 years, Hockey has been our passion. Played on ponds and rinks from coast to coast. Hockey brings us closer together, inspires us and is our way of life. To many, it’s what defines us as Canadians. The Canadian Way is the philosophy behind all of our Men’s National Teams. This Coaching Program will give you an inside glimpse into The Canadian Way and our Program of Excellence. Coaches that attend the Canadian Way & Program of Excellence as well as the Video Coaching & the Use of Technology are eligible for 3 Professional Development Points towards Certification Maintenance. Click here to register for the Canadian Way & Program of Excellence Seminar Bridging the Gap: Developing our next High Performance Females Female coaches and coaches of Females gather together to bridge the gap between development and High Performance. Leading the next generation and growing as a coach with High Performance guest speakers and an afternoon workshop that will challenge and motivate you going into the season.Coaches that attend Bridging the Gap: Developing our next High Performance Females as well as the Video Coaching & the Use of Technology are eligible for 3 Professional Development Points towards Certification Maintenance. This clinic is designed for high performance coaches looking to understand how they can utilize technology and analytics. This will focus on how video and technology can support the development of players, correct errors and provide suggestions for improvement. Click here to register for the Video Coaching & the Use of Technology Seminar National Coach Mentorship Program The purpose of this program is to support the growth of coaching in Canada. The ultimate outcome is improved athlete development through the establishment of a national coach mentoring program. Coaches participating in this program will have selection between Skills 1 and Skating 1. Each program focuses on a practical session on teaching various skating drills and skills. This proactive approach will also open the doors of communication and provide a non-threatening environment for coaches to further pursue a mentor. These programs are worth 3 professional development points towards certification maintenance for those eligible Click here to register for the National Coach Mentorship Program Coaches Open House Team Canada coaches will be on hand to share strategy and tactics with minor hockey coaches. Join Team Canada and Hockey Eastern Ontario Staff in an interactive Coaching Program designed to educate, inform and inspire our local minor hockey coaches.
