I am one of the two founders of what was then called the Centre for Sport & Law. We are now known as the Sport Law & Strategy Group, to reflect more accurately what we do and we have grown to 6 people.
I am also an Associate Professor within the Sport Management Department at Brock University. There I teach courses in sport law (a general survey course covering an array of legal topic that arise within the sport management context), intellectual property & licensing, contract analysis & drafting and a course in practical negotiation skills.
My main focus from a legal perspective, is on issues of discrimination, arbitration and organizational policy & by-law development. I also do contract review and drafting. From a research perspective, my focus is on international sport governance, discrimination and fairness issues in sport arbitration.
Currently, I am involved in a research project focused on the sport community response to the new Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act.
