Conference Theme: "Designing programmes for enhancing performance in Sport and Physical Activity"

The conference seeks to bring together international academics and practitioners in sport and physical activity to present research and discuss experiences from practical programmes in elite and developmental sport contexts. The aim is to enhance theoretical and practical understanding of the principles that underpin the design of skill acquisition and physical activity programmes for enhancing performance of elite and developing athletes.

The inaugural Scientific Conference on Motor Skill Acquisition is a relevant forum for the dissemination of information that seeks to develop understanding of empirical and experiential knowledge in sport and physical activity. The international conference seeks to promote cooperation between academic researchers and practitioners responsible for the implementation of programmes associated with skill acquisition, motor learning and athlete development. This multi-disciplinary, international conference will provide opportunities to highlight and share empirical and experiential knowledge in the area of motor skills and physical activity including modern sport pedagogies, psychology, behavioural neuroscience, ecological dynamics, and coaching science.

Experts in the various disciplinary fields will present their insights (based in applied and empirical contexts) to assist in the continuing development of research and practice into the learning of motor skills. Conference attendees will be provided with many opportunities to liaise with each other to acquire new insights, ideas and share current information with regards to future practice and research, with an aim to improve practical and empirical work in the acquisition of expertise in sport and physical activity.
