Economic development, tourism, sport, culture and event hosting industry leaders from across Atlantic Canada are gathering to discuss how more and more communities are using events and sport hosting as community economic development and tourism initiatives.

This year's Summit features a keynote address by CBC Sports host of Olympic Primetime, Scott Russell. A Gemini Award-winning broadcaster and acclaimed author, Scott Russell will share his vast experience, insights and knowledge of what makes a great host city. Scott has covered the world’s largest sporting events including; 11 Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, Pan Am Games, and several FIFA World Cups. As host of Olympic Games Primetime during CBC/Radio-Canada's coverage of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games Scott will provide us with a sneak peek of what we can expect to see in Rio.  
 

Additional session will feature speakers and presentations on how communities can measure success with events, tips for bidding for events, community hosting success stories from across the region and major event hosting opportunities for Atlantic Canada.
