From December 14-16, 2017 the Canadian Wheelchair Sports Association will be hosting a very special event in our nation's capital, to celebrate three important milestones in the history of wheelchair sport in Canada!

40 YEARS since the rst activity in wheelchair sport started at Deer Lodge Rehabilitation Center in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1947

50 YEARS since Canadian Wheelchair Sports Association was ocially incorporated in 1967

70 YEARS since the Canadian Heritage Sport of ‘Murderball’, or Wheelchair Rugby as it’s now known, was invented in Winnipeg, Manitoba
