Armchair Quarterbacks: Canadians and Sports - Author Meets Readers
Event Date: Sep. 29, 2016
5:30pm
Author Meets Readers invites the community to join an informal discussion on new books published by members of the Carleton University Faculty of Public Affairs.
Join us for Armchair Quarterbacks: Canadians and Sports.
About the Editor: Chris Waddell holds the Carty Chair in Business and Financial Journalism at Carleton University’s School of Journalism and Communication.
About the Book: "How Canadians Communicate V: Sports" examines how fewer Canadians than ever are lacing up skates, swimming lengths at the pool, practicing their curve ball, and experiencing the thrill of competition. At the same time, we’re spending more time and money watching other people compete in the Olympics, the NHL, the Major Leagues, and on other professional teams. It’s a trend that’s changing both professional sports and fans.
About the Panel: Chris Waddell will be joined by Roy MacGregor (Journalist from the Globe and Mail), Jennifer Brenning (Carleton Director, Recreation and Athletics), and Dave Best (Algonquin College Sport Business Management)
