Regardless of whether students want to own the podium or the playground they must first learn the basics of athleticism, which lays the foundation to leading healthy active lives later in life. However, for some students the only opportunity they have to be physically active is in school.

In his session, Dr. McGill will discuss the importance of developing athleticism, the important role played by physical education and how the ability to move effectively can be applied to everyday living.

Dr. Stuart McGill is a professor of spine biomechanics at the University of Waterloo. As a consultant, he has provided low back expertise to various government agencies, many corporations, elite athletes, teams and Olympic programs from many countries, and legal firms. He is one of the few scientists who is regularly asked for consult by the medical and sporting community regarding particularly difficult back cases.

He is the author of 3 textbooks and over 300 scientific publications that address the issues of low back function, injury mechanisms, development of evidence-based rehabilitation and performance enhancement.

Don't miss this great PD opportunity.
