Join us on Wednesday 14th November at 11 am GMT for this free webinar. By the end of the webinar you’ll be able to:

  • Understand the evidence to determine whether the risk for CVD and other NCD’s is higher in those who work shifts.
  • Describe the patterns of physical activity and sedentary behaviour in shift workers.
  • Implement or develop new interventions promoting PA in shift workers based on knowledge from current PA patterns together with the effectiveness of health promotion programmes

The focus of Dr Kolbe-Alexander’s research is the role of physical activity in the prevention and treatment of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Much of her research is conducted in the worksite setting, where she is investigating the effectiveness of worksite health promotion programmes on improving employee health status and lifestyle behaviours.  More recently, she has been conducting research among shift workers, as this group has been shown to be at increased risk for NCDsKo and less likely to engage in health-seeking behaviour.

She is currently a member of the International Society of Physical Activity’s Board and chairperson of their Education Committee.
