IMPACT Athlete Development Program is a multi-sport foundational athletic skills program built to develop athletes within the Train-to- Train (T2T) stage of the long-term athlete development pathway. The curriculum provides developing athletes with access to multi-sport training sessions designed to enhance motor skills and physical fitness at sport performance facilities in different regions of the province ensuring physical competencies are developed in age and stage appropriate programs.

IMPACT camps are designed for students with athletic participation in grades 9 to 12 to provide them with a unique opportunity to spend the day in the life of an Olympic or professional athlete. At the camp, students get to learn from elite athletes and their Sport Science experts what it takes to be on the world stage of professional and Olympic sport; and to experience first hand, how to build skills for fitness and recovery.

The goal for the day is to have a mix of activity, testimonial and classroom content. The structure is designed to imitate a day in the life of a high performance athlete, including a mix of activity, testimonial and classroom content.

We start the day with an hour in the classroom, which includes an introduction activity, going over the goals for the day and hearing the IMPACT Athlete Story, followed by a group warm up and fitness testing. Afterwards, athletes have guided recovery (including a snack).

The next section is all about training. The group will be broken up into two smaller groups. One group will do an agility/speed workout, while the other one learns about fitness training planning. Then the groups will switch. After the workout, the entire group meets to learn about pre/post event fuelling while lunch is provided. Then we have a sport psychology session that includes goal setting, self awareness and preparing to train. We wrap up the camp with takeaways from the day.
