Networking and Dining Etiquette for National Sport Associations in Ottawa / Gatineau

SPECIAL PROMOTION FOR MEMBERS OF THE
CANADIAN NATIONAL SPORT ASSOCIATION COMMUNITY IN OTTAWA / GATINEAU
Each year NPSIA-PT&D identifies communities and groups in the National Capital Region who work with International members, associations and institutions and whose activities involve relationship building and the management of partnerships who may benefit from our social protocol training workshop held each September: the Practical Certificate in International Social Protocol - Networking, Cocktail and Dining Etiquette. This year we are extending this offer to the Canadian NSA community. We do so with the understanding that while most work undertaken by NSAs is conducted formally through digital communication, scheduled meetings and special events that coincide with National and International sport competition, critical decisions and key relationships are often made or struck outside of the confines of every-day business. Lobbying for events and the positioning of associations in the greater global community of sport requires skill and the ability to influence and manage relations in all situations including formal AND informal social activities such as receptions, dinners and personal invitations to participate in a gathering at a home, or host a special guest or delegation at one’s own residence.
While we will not be providing a "how-to-lobby / negotiate / or solicit support" workshop with partners and stakeholders (that’s another one of our workshops!) our expert trainers Margaret and Larry Dickenson will teach you, your colleagues and family members the necessary SOCIAL GRACES required to navigate and manage the most challenging social occasions with confidence and ease. From knowing the proper etiquette for consuming food and beverages at formal receptions and the importance of seating at dinners according to seniority, rank and influence to knowing how to entertain for - or participate in exclusive social group settings. Our workshop provides all this and more in a truly enjoyable and rewarding learning format.
Learning objectives in this course include:
- appropriate ways to present oneself and others
- how to access conversational groups of various sizes and cultures

- restaurant and formal dining etiquette - as a host and as a guest - includes learning seating
