Groove EDGEucation
Michelle Hillier, B.Ed, OCT- Groove EDGEucation
Michelle is a passionate educational presenter and consultant for school boards and teacher education programs across Canada. She completed her teaching training and after spending years in the classroom, she is now passionately committed to getting dance and movement into ALL areas of education through the Groove EDGEucation programs and resources with her team. In 2015 they received an award from the CIRA, for making a positive contribution to the field of education through non-competitive activity programming. Michelle is also an instructional leader in the teacher education program at UOIT and Dance AQ courses through York, inspiring pre-service and in-service teachers to make movement accessible for all students. Michelle has been actively involved as an educational presenter at major conferences such as PHE Canada, OPHEA, CODE, CIRA (to name a few!) and also working with community groups through training of teachers and front line staff. Michelle just recently finished authoring a chapter on dance education for a national H&PE textbook to be released in late 2016. When Michelle isn’t on the Groove dance floor you can find her in fitness, traveling, and spending time with the two biggest loves of her life – her husband Dave and her 4-year old son James.
CIRA Ontario
Herwig Baldauf- Canadian Intramural Recreation Association (CIRA)
Herwig retired as the head of physical and health education at Niagara District Secondary School, having taught for 30 years. In that time, he has served on the executive boards of CIRA Ontario, CAHPERD and OPHEA (Ontario Physical and Health Education Association). He has published several resources for CIRA Ontario and OPHEA and was co-editor of the former CAHPERD’s “The Clipboard” series. Baldauf is a regular workshop presenter and has done numerous presentations at a variety of provincial and national conferences and has presented at AQ courses various universities. Baldauf has been described as a visionary with progressive and innovative ideas and has been recognized with awards from his peers in the teaching profession, including the Ontario Secondary School Teacher’s Federation Excellence in Education Award.
CIRA Ontario is a non-profit organization whose mission is to encourage, promote and develop active living, healthy lifestyles and personal growth through intramural and recreational programs within the education and recreation communities.

Ken Lodewyk, Ph.D– Associate Professor Brock University, Co- Director of the Centre for Healthy Development
Associate Kinesiology Professor at Brock University, Ken is a firm believer in fundamental movement skills and creating a relationship between instructional practices, motivation, beliefs, life skills and achievement in movement settings.
James Mandigo, Ph.D- Associate Professor and Associate Dean Brock University, Co-Director of the Centre for Healthy Development
Associate Kinesiology Professor at Brock University, James is primarily interested in the development of life skills through sport and physical education, physical literacy pedagogy, health promoting schools, and teaching games for understanding.

Ted Temertzoglou- Thompson Educational Publishing
Ted Temertzoglou is Vice President of Teacher/Student Success at Thompson Educational Publishing developing resources for Health and Physical Education K to 12.Ted works with governments, school boards and health and physical education teachers & associations, implementing UNESCO’s Quality Physical Education Guidelines for Policy-Makers. He delivers keynote addresses and conducted workshops on physical literacy, health & physical education and staff wellness, most recently in Cape Town,South Africa; Dubai, UAE and Shanghai, China. He is also a certified personal trainer with The Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology.
