Physical literacy is defined as having the motoric competence, motivation and positive affect to engage in and maintain life-long participation in physical activity. It is viewed as foundational to physical activity. Physical activity in turn is known to be associated with numerous positive health and social outcomes including academic achievement.

In this webinar, Dr. John Cairney will discuss these linkages but also the direct and tangible impacts of physical literacy on brain development and learning. A particular case will be made for the importance of physical literacy to student outcomes in education - from the early years through to adulthood.
