It’s not too late for your group to enter a team in this year’s Dragon Boat Festival!

2015 is our 22nd anniversary and each year we have a number of new teams and beginners are always welcomed! This year’s festival will be taking place on the weekend of June 25-28 (races will be held on June 27th and 28th).

Teams consist of 14-20 paddlers, one steersperson and one drummer. Your registration includes two free practices for your team so that your team can get on the water together with a coach at the Rideau Canoe Club before the festival. These practices will take place during the month leading up to the festival and are 55 minutes in length. You will be able to select the times and dates of these practices based on your team’s preference and availability.

Your team is guaranteed two races on Saturday, June 27th and the top 75 mixed teams and top 24 women’s teams advance to Sunday for a second day of racing.

The festival attracts over 70,000 visitors each year (free admission to all onsite activities).

This is the largest dragon boat festival in North America.

A company can increase exposure onsite by putting their name and/or logo on team t-shirts and/or placing a company banner on the team’s 12x20’ site.

Challenge Cups provide opportunity for friendly competition.

Festival attracts people of all ages by offering live entertainment throughout the event, a popular children’s area for families and an opportunity to cheer on 200 teams racing on the water.

Largest Ottawa festival fundraiser that supports five local charities (current charities include Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa, Children at Risk, Heartwood House, Helping with Furniture and Shepherds of Good Hope).
