TORONTO, ON – Twenty-eight coaches and technical leaders, as well as 6 performance analysts from across the country will participate in the 2nd annual technical summit for women’s high performance at Humber College, Lakeshore Campus in Toronto, from December 11-13.

“This event is a tremendous investment in the professional development of our Canadian women’s coaches and technical leaders as we build a pool of world class individuals,” said Denise Dignard, Director of Women’s High Performance. “We have experienced tremendous improvements over the past year and look forward to sharing lessons learned and seeing these further integrated into our high performance programs and feeder systems across the country.”

The summit, which takes place in advance of the women’s national age-group assessment camp (Dec 13-17), provides coaches and technical leaders from all stages of development the opportunity to share best practices. The objective of the two-day summit is to grow the depth and scope of the women’s national coaching pool and provide training on international basketball.

The summit will be conducted by Mike Mackay, performance manager and Steve Baur, performance analyst of the women’s high performance program.  In addition, women’s national team head coach, Lisa Thomaidis, will share some lessons learned from the team’s recent 5th place finish at the women’s world championships in Turkey.
