Canadian Luge Team Host Viessmann Luge World Cup and BMW Sprint World Cup

Canadian Luge Association —Canadian Team hits the track in Whistler December 12 at 9:30 a.m. for Nation’s Cup and final training runs—

WHISTLER, B.C.—In a preview of the 50th FIL Luge World Championships in February 2021, Canada’s luge athletes led by Olympic medalists, Tristan Walker and Justin Snith, will slide into Whistler, B.C. this week to host the Viessmann Luge World Cup and BMW Sprint World Cup, December 12-14.

Canada will play host to more than 130 athletes representing 19 countries at the Whistler Sliding Centre. Athletes will compete in men’s and women’s singles, and doubles races, along with the BMW Sprint

World Cup which will cap off the weekend.

The Nation’s Cup qualifying race, and final training sessions, will take place on December 12 at 9:30 a.m.

Tickets:

Tickets for the Whistler event can be purchased for $10 now at www.luge.ca/events, or in person at Guest Services at the Whistler Sliding Centre. Children 12 and under are free.

Viessmann Luge World Cup: (all times PST)

December 12

9:30 a.m. – Nation’s Cup Race

December 13

1:40 p.m. – Women’s Singles Race

4:30 p.m. – Men’s Singles Race

December 14

12:45 p.m. – Doubles Race

3:30 p.m. – BMW Sprint World Cup Men

4:15 p.m. – BMW Sprint World Cup Women

4:55 p.m. – BMW Sprint World Cup Doubles

Whistler Media Accreditation:

ALL media must RSVP to Chris Dornan at hpprchris@shaw.ca in advance of the event to receive media

credentials for the World Cup. Media can pick up accreditation in the Media Centre located in Guest Services

at the Whistler Sliding Centre.

Media Parking:

Limited parking will be made available for media in Lot 7 and 8. Media may also gain free access to the venue

via the Excalibur Gondola.
