Gymnastics Canada - Montréal, December 12, 2019 – Gymnastics Canada and the Institut national du sport du Québec (INS Québec) are pleased to announce a partnership confirming the establishment of a national training centre at the INS Québec Complex for artistic gymnastics and trampoline gymnastics. The INS Québec also becomes the primary site for Olympic preparation for Tokyo (2020) and Paris (2024) Olympic Games for artistic gymnastics.

In addition to benefiting from the INS Québec’s state-of-the-art facilities, the athletes, coaches, and staff can count on an integrated support team which gathers experts from the Institute to provide them with medical, scientific, and personal services. Because every detail counts to make a difference in the preparation of athletes, Gymnastics Canada, Gymnastique Québec, and INS Québec have also invested in a new artistic floor which is identical to the one that will be used during the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

“We’ve always had a strong relationship with the INS Québec as a world-class training environment for our artistic and trampoline gymnastics’ teams and we’re excited to make this partnership official,” said Ian Moss, CEO of Gymnastics Canada.

“Whether it is the quality of our facilities or our unique scientific and sports medicine expertise gathered under the same roof, the INS Québec will be able to offer a world-class daily training environment to gymnasts and trampolinists,” said Roger Archambault, Vice President - Performance Services. “This agreement with Gymnastics Canada is part of our vision of being an organization with which athletes, coaches, and sports organizations will associate to obtain the best solutions for improving athletic performance.”

“We are so excited to have the INS Québec as our national training centre,” said two-time Olympian Ellie Black from the women’s artistic gymnastics national team. “It is important to have a dedicated spot like the INS Québec for training camp consistency and team building. It’s inspiring to train in a building with so many other athletes, Olympians, and future Olympians from a variety of sports. The facility has so much to offer other than a great gymnastics area. They have a workout gym downstairs and many recovery tools such as the hot/cold tubs that will be so beneficial at keeping our bodies healthy. All of this will help keep our team motivated, excited, and supported on our journey to Tokyo 2020 and beyond.”
