Level 2 Rules Webinar presented by Golf NL Beginning January 2020 Every Thursday night for 13 weeks

December 16, 2019

Nova Scotia Golf Association - Level 2 Rules Webinar presented by Golf NL

Beginning early January, Golf NL will offer an internet-based program on the Rules of Golf. The target audience includes anyone wishing to become provincially certified under the latest rules of golf released in 2019. Please note, this is NOT a certification course. The NSGA will be hosting a Level 2 certification course in the Spring of 2020.

Please see below for more information on the webinar:

  • Participants much obtain their Level 1 Certification, through the R&A prior to this webinar. Click here to take the Level 1 Rules Online Certification.

  • The program runs one-night per week (Thursdays) for 13 weeks. Each session lasts 2-2.5 hour, including a 15 minute break. Intended start date is: Thursday January 9, 2020.

  • The webinar accommodates 2 types of participants:
  • Active participants: Those who intend to write the level 2 Rules exam in the spring (NSGA Level 2 Seminar date TBD).
  • Auditors: Those who were Level 2, 3 or 4 officials under the former rules, and want to get re-certified under the 2019 rules.

  • The former four levels of certification have been reduced to three. Level 2 is now designed as the "provincial certification", and level 3 is the "national certification".

  • Each week will include slides and videos on the rules, followed by some questions on the rules of golf. The latter will begin in week 3. These are Practice Problems similar ones that will appear on the exams.

  • If the slide presentation of any rule does not get finished during a session, participants are expected to review that rule on their own time.

Equipment Required to Participate:

  • Computer with internet access. Tablets or smartphones may also work, but a computer is best. Headphones, microphone, and USB cord. Please avoid built in computer microphones, as they usually provide too much feedback.

To participate, please contact Bruce Watson, Golf NL Rules Chair Jim Sloan, or Golf NL executive director Greg Hillier.
