Canada secures a continental berth in the 49erFX for the 2020 Olympics in Japan.

The 2019 Hyundai 49er, 49er FX and Nacra 17 World Championships wrapped up with the final fleet races and medal races being held on Sunday. The regatta challenged the Canadian sailors with tough conditions and tougher competition.

In the 49er FX fleet, the team of Ali Ten Hove and Mariah Millen (ON) posted some strong results throughout the regatta, with multiple finishes in the top 10 against some very stiff competition. As an added bonus, thanks to their excellent sailing at the PanAm games in Lima and a strong finish from the American FX team at the Worlds, Canada has secured a continental berth for the 2020 Olympics in Japan.
